The people I met in Paris were kind enough to respond to my sudden ask, even though I don’t speak French, and I was able to experience People’s warmth.
And what I want to convey in this book is what language is. In Europe, there were people who treated me, a nobody, with respect, and I was able to take pictures in a world where titles and languages were irrelevant.
When language is understood, people can explain who you are.
When language is understood, you can ask them who you are.
The people I photographed understood each other as fascinating people without sharing conversation.
Every person has their charms, and they are charms because they have complexities that cannot be expressed in words, and they are expressed through life.
You too have charms that are expressed.
Even if people don't understand you, as long as you are alive, your existence alone is a mass of charm.
